Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

Love this! From a friend.
Okay, I admit it. I like making my own stuff: spot remover, weed killer, flea and tick repellent, furniture fix, bronzer, bug-bite-de-itch, etc…. and to make most of these things, these wonderful things, you only need to stock a few key items. As with all of my recipes, I generally research, try several variations, modify if necessary and post the ones that work. My favorite this week is the spot remover. Our oldest son had a spot of blood on a white shirt that remained after going through the wash and yes the dryer too. It was a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt, so it was also a favorite. Kids. What did I use you ask? Well, stay tuned and read on.

Dawn dishwashing liquid. This magic soap is great for many many purposes, and lets face it, it also makes me happy that they help clean wildlife that is caught in oil spills. (That can be a whole other rant….)
Baking Soda
White Vinegar
Cider Vinegar
and my favorite Epsom Salt
if you want to add a little flair to your concoctions, some essential oils.

In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,
Lizard’s leg, and owlet’s wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Well, my concoctions are much simpler than those of the 3 witches, but just as potent!

We’ll start with stain remover. Ready?
1 tsp. Dawn
3-4 Tbsp. hydrogen peroxide
2 Tbsp. baking soda
The baking soda will not incorporate, you must quickly stir before each use. don’t worry, it’s worth the trouble. Trouble? Not really.

That’s it. Honest. Best of all, it works great, is cost effective and environmentally safe! Win win win win wine. (Did I say wine…it must be time for a sip.)
